Our local, and rather unique, wooden skatepark that has been serving our skate community so well for the last 15+ years is rotting into the ground. It’s very sad. So we’ve formed a team (Friends of Small Dole Skatepark) to raise funds to restore our park before it is no more. We need a minimum of £50000 to get this project going, and together with our local council and skate family we’re doing lots of cool things and events to raise the money.

We’re super excited to have teamed up with The Wandering Gallery so that at our next Skate Jam (the last one was a huge success) we can hold a Skateboard Deck Art Exhibition and Auction. Profits from which will all go to provide a new skate park for the local community.

We’ve asked 21 artists to donate their time and skills to decorate one blank skateboard deck provided by The Friends of Small Dole Skatepark which will then be included in an exhibition and auction in The Wandering Gallery which will be parked at our next skate jam event on Saturday the 10th of Sept, and which will continue until the 27th of September at Unit 80, Mackleys Est, Small Dole, BN5 9XR. Or view it online here

Our last skate jam was a huge success attracting a couple of hundred people from all over the surrounding areas. We aim to repeat and build on that success. We’ll be skating, having a BBQ, music, prizes, selling cakes, giving lessons, having a mini skate market and of course hosting this exhibition.

What can you do to help?

You can spread the word in real life and online? You could come to the event? Have some BBQ and Cake? Donate to our Just Giving Fund? Buy some of our FO Small Dole Skatepark merch? Or even bid for one of our Custom Art Decks? However you decide to, please do get involved!?

Love,
